Virtual Golf Lounge Opens In Orange

Golf Lounge 18, a 5,500 square-foot indoor virtual golf facility, is opening its doors in Orange on Saturday, Nov. 16. The lounge, located at 200 Indian River Rd. in the Christmas Tree Shop Plaza, has a mission to help both aspiring and advanced golfers play golf year-round.

Golf Lounge 18 will be hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to experience the indoor golfing setup. There will be a variety of prizes to win along with drinks and food.

The official ribbon-cutting with the Orange Chamber of Commerce will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m.

“We wanted to create a place for golfers like us to practice when time, weather, proximity and traffic prevent traditional play,” said owner Ajit Padda. “We also wanted new golfers to come in here and learn the game in a non-intimidating, fun and welcoming environment.”

Golf Lounge’s first location opened in October 2018 in the Fairfield, Connecticut Sportsplex.

“The tremendous support from the community, the teaching opportunities for kids and school teams and the fun families had hanging out and hosting events triggered us to expand,” Padda said. “We spent over a year looking for the right location, and we are thrilled to introduce Golf Lounge 18 to the Orange community. Orange is strategically located to attract people from the New Haven area and players from Fairfield County, providing maximum advantage to local residents while enabling additional business opportunities locally.”

Golf Lounge 18 is powered by the TrackMan 4 dual radar technology and performance tracking system. The TrackMan is the first and only system to process everything a golf club does before, during and after impact.

“The simulator provides data and analytics on movement of the club and ball while displaying live graphic overlays of club path, face angle, target line and ball trajectory,” Padda said. “The data is synched with a video recording every swing. Premier hyper-realistic 3-D graphics provide a realistic experience on the world’s most renowned courses, from St. Andrews Links Old Course and PGA National to Muirfield Village and Royal Potrush Golf Club.”

Visitors can reserve one of the six available golf bays at Golf Lounge 18 online, and four to six people can play in each bay at any given time. Pricing starts at $45 per hour per bay. For those who want to fine-tune their skills, Golf Lounge trainers with extensive experience are available to assist. Golf Lounge 18 will offer flexible event spaces, full bar service, a food menu, widescreen TVs, pool table, lounge area and more.

Groups looking to play on a more consistent basis have the chance to join a Golf Lounge 18 league. Leagues typically run for eight weeks with two-person teams and a “best ball scoring” format. Competitors play at different courses each week, and a winner is determined by playoffs.
