The First Church of Christ in Woodbridge will host a traditional New Orleans–style jazz concert featuring Tenpenny Bounce on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. in Woodbridge.
Tenpenny Bounce is a high-energy traditional jazz ensemble bringing the authentic sounds of 1920s and 1930s New Orleans, Chicago and New York to life. Blending hot rhythms, spirited improvisation, and vintage flair, the band captures the excitement and joyful swing of America’s early jazz era.
The band features cornet/trumpet, clarinet/saxophone, trombone, piano, bass saxophone, drums, and banjo/guitar to recreate the sounds of the dance halls, speakeasies and riverboat bands of the past.
The event is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be collected. There will be a reception in the parish hall afterward. The church is located at 5 Meetinghouse Ln.
